  • conducted studies of trade competitiveness and firm-level productivity analysis in Europe Union

  • applied the World Bank’s trade competitiveness toolkit to Uzbekistan with COMTRADE and customs data, and analyze firm performance in selected sectors using SAS and Stata

  • constructed database on loan maturity profile using bank balance sheets data

  • studied the determinants of long-term vs. short-term bank credit across countries

  • documented long-term loans to enterprises in the emerging markets were growing substantially faster than in the rest of the world during the pre-crisis years

  • identified potential investments in government and corporate bonds in the China onshore interbank bond market, and participated in creating new credit analysis process for local currency quasi-sovereign corporate debt issuers

  • assisted principal portfolio officer create and manage $2 billion equivalent EM Corporate Debt program in local currency investing in Brazil, Colombia, China, India, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico

  • estimated the vulnerabilities of firms with foreign currency debt to currency depreciation risks

  • wrote integrity due diligence (IDD) reports to ensure invested companies are financially and commercially sound, and environmentally and socially sustainable
